TEACHING
I am very fortunate to have worked with incredibly talented and wonderful students over the past twenty years, many of whom became friends and colleagues along the way. I am grateful that I could have played a small part
in their artistic and creative journeys, and I am very proud to see the work they are doing out in the world.
Many of my former undergraduate and post-graduate students are internationally published and recognized illustrators, designers, art directors and artists in their own right. Some notable student projects and alumni that
I have supervised or taught at Stellenbosch University include, among others: Cape Town based illustrator, Lorraine Loots, internationally renowned for her tiny, incredibly detailed miniature watercolor works in various series called Paintings for Ants; Kirsten Sims (Illustrator and Artist); Katrin Coetzer (Illustrator and Artist), Xanele Puren of the See-Saw-Do child-centred design initiative; Marike Le Roux (Illustrator and Lecturer); Mieke Hall (illustrator and lecturer); Hanno Van Zyl (Designer and Illustrator), Kirsten Beets (Artist); Hannes Bernard, Charl Edwards (Editor, Designer and Art Director), and many more talented young people that I remember fondly.
